Ribble redefines road cycling with Allroad range launch

Ribble Cycles has introduced its new Allroad range, a line of bikes designed to push the boundaries of what a road bike can achieve. This launch promises world-class aerodynamic performance combined with the ability to tackle mixed terrain, all while maintaining speed and comfort. Ribble’s approach, known as Road+, aims to broaden the horizons of road cyclists.

The Allroad range is the result of an intensive three-year research and development process, incorporating advanced technologies and real-world testing. Jamie Burrow, Head of Product at Ribble, remarked, “Our extensive R&D programme has enabled us to introduce key findings into the Allroad range, giving each bike a competitive advantage and performance edge, resulting in a complete package for all riders. The Allroad platform has been meticulously designed and fine-tuned to offer an incredible all-day endurance ride paired with unbeatable performance.”

The Allroad platform features three models: the Allroad SL, Allroad SL R, and Allroad SL R e. These models boast aerodynamically optimised tube profiles, an endurance-specific geometry that doesn’t compromise performance, and improved tyre clearance of up to 38mm on the SL R and SL R e models. Additional features include multiple mounting points, hidden mudguard mounts, and a striking design livery. The bikes utilise the latest carbon technology, with the SL R and SL R e models incorporating T1000 and M46 fibres, while the SL model uses T800 and T700 fibres.

One of the standout innovations in the new range is the Ribble UB2 bar, available on the SL R and SL R e. This second-generation Ultra handlebar incorporates air-flow disrupting wake generators, aero-sculpted drops, and direct mount brake levers, all optimised for endurance road cycling. The UB2 handlebar is fully integrated, cable-free, and designed for all-day riding comfort.

The flagship Allroad SL R is a highlight of the range, incorporating aerodynamically advanced technology from the Ultra Road platform. This model uses a bespoke blend of M46 and T1000 carbon fibre, resulting in a superlight machine weighing just 7.5kg for the Medium Hero build. The SL R features aero-optimised profiling, flared seat stays, wider forks, and tapered chain stays for enhanced compliance and tyre clearance up to 38c. Internal frame storage in the downtube and aero-optimised bottle cages further enhances its performance.

The Allroad SL offers a lightweight option with a full carbon frame and fork engineered from T700 and T800 fibres. Weighing in at 8.8kg for the Medium Pro build, this model maintains an ideal blend of stiffness and compliance, with frame profiles designed for watt-saving aerodynamics and a tyre clearance up to 35c.

For those seeking power assistance, the Allroad SL R e pairs the SL R’s advanced construction with the MAHLE X20 drive system. This electric model provides up to 140km from a single charge, extendable to over 200km with an optional range extender. The system includes route planning and heart rate monitor compatibility, all updateable via a Bluetooth-connected app. Despite its additional technology, the SL R e remains lightweight at 11.8kg for the Medium Hero build, with a tyre clearance up to 38c.

Ribble’s Allroad range is available in various builds, from Sport to Hero, with prices starting at ยฃ1,699 for the Allroad SL Sport and going up to ยฃ8,499 for the Allroad SL R e Hero spec. Riders can also fine-tune their specifications using Ribble’s Configurator and personalise their bike’s livery with the CustomColour proposition.
