This year’s Simac Ladies Tour, from 8th to 13th October, is set to feature an impressive line-up, with twelve Womenโs WorldTeams participating. Fans can expect to see top teams like SD Worx-Protime, Lidl-Trek, and Visma | Lease a Bike competing in a varied Tour.
Other notable teams joining the race include Movistar, dsm-firmenich PostNL, Canyon//SRAM Racing, UAE Team ADQ, Liv AlUla Jayco, Fenix-Deceuninck, Human Powered Health, AG Insurance-Soudal, and Uno X Mobility. Additionally, continental teams such as Cofidis, Lotto Dstny, VolkerWessels, and GT Krush Rebellease will complete the roster. This marks the first time the race will be held in October.
Diverse Course Awaits Riders
The riders will face a diverse route, starting with a ten-kilometre individual time trial around Gennep in Limburg. Subsequent stages will take the peloton to Assen, Zeewolde, Ede, and Doetinchem. These stages seem favourable for sprinters, although the wind could play a significant role.
The final stage will once again centre around Arnhem. This yearโs route has been based on the course used for the recent Dutch National Championships for professionals. Though the Posbank climb is not included this time, the rolling roads around Arnhem will be decisive in shaping the overall standings.
Organisers Ensure Safety and Excitement
Thijs Rondhuis of Courage Events, the race organiser, shared with Cyclingonline.nl: โThe Simac Ladies Tour has a long history on the womenโs calendar and in the Womenโs WorldTour. The Netherlands has always produced many strong riders who all make their mark in this lap, and many international stars also love to compete here.โ
โWeโve laid out a safe course and can count on the support of the national police unit. Moreover, itโs a balanced stage schedule, allowing various riders to dream of adding their name to the honour list alongside many strong competitors. We aim to conclude this excellent sporting year in style.โ
