Strong performance in Thüringen Ladies Tour

In the east of Germany, Team Coop – Hitec Products raced the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour from Tuesday to Sunday. Being involved in several attacks and getting good results, the riders of the team showed themselves well. And that in a peloton with a high level. Ingvild Gaskjenn ended 16th in the general classification. On Sunday she finished the race with her best day result, an 11th place.

For the two German riders of Team Coop – Hitec Products, the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour, was more or less a home race. It is the only international race organised in Germany. The team was very active if it came to attacking. Amalie Lutro, Anne Dorthe Ysland and Caroline Andersson tried several times and Caroline was able to join a long breakaway in the third stage.

Ingvild got herself some nice stage results, showing again what she can do as a cyclist. The 16th place in the middle of some big names in cycling showed that as well. “My shape is finally getting good again, after having health issues in 2020”, she says about that herself. “It feels amazing to be up in the mix again!”

‘Proud of the team’
That she could achieve those results, was for sure also because of the work of the rest of the team. Ingvild: “There were very hectic finishes every day, so the days that a big peloton came in together, it was a crazy fight for positions. We tried to stay together, but it turned out to be difficult against other teams with strong lead-out trains. But during the race everyone worked really well together all week! I am really proud of the team and how we rode together.”
