TALENT Elabo U19 Team rides challenging Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie

The TALENT Elabo U19 Team is active this weekend in the Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie, a tough two-day stage race in the south of France that is part of the UCI Junior Nations’ Cup. Maud Oudeman, Freja Ann Smith, Norah Minck, Willemijn Prins and Carola van de Wetering come into action!

“Thursday morning we left early and today we arrived in Mende”, says Nina Maathuis. “On Saturday we will ride four times a 16 kilometre circuit with a climb of 1.8 kilometres with an average gradient of 6.2%. In total, we will make by 1000 vertical meters. On Sunday we will ride a 66 kilometre course with two big climbs in it with a maximum gradient of 20%, easy ;)”

“In recent months we have been practising at Talent Cycling on collaboration as a team. We hope to be able to show this weekend that we can drive well as a team and that we are ready for each other”, Maathuis continues.

“The real climbers in our team have the task this weekend to cross the finish line first, the other girls are going to help them achieve this goal as best they can!”

Unfortunately, the Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie is not broadcast on TV. However, the French website DirectVélo keeps a liveblog on its website. At the end of this beautiful race weekend we also look back on our website!
