Team aims for sprint finish in De Panne

The spring classic season continues on Belgian soil with the Classic Brugge-De Panne. Liv Racing Xstra aims for another bunch sprint in this race.

Thursday it is time for the 5th edition of the Classic Brugge-De Panne. In last year`s race Liv Racing Xstra was going for the win in a hard echelon race. This year the team wants to be in the front again, aiming for a sprint finish. The peloton will start from Brugge and heads west to the North Sea toward De Panne. A circuit of 45,1 km awaits for the riders, which they have to tackle twice. Liv Racing Xstra starts with Eva Buurman, Rachele Barbieri, Valerie Demey, Alison Jackson, Amber van der Hulst and Katia Ragusa.

Van der Hulst is looking forward to the race. “Tomorrow we want to be in the finale with the team and we will ride to win. We get used to each other more and more every race, that will be important in tomorrow`s race. They don`t predict a lot of wind, so the chance for a bunch sprint is really big. We showed in Fryslân that we can do a solid lead-out, so I hope we can show that again in De Panne.”

Last week Van der Hulst spent some training days in Limburg. “We stayed at the Landal Kasteeldomein De Cauberg. A beautiful place to charge the batteries and to do some good training rides. It was a good solid week of training. Now I am ready for the next races.”
