Ana Vitoria Magalhães, a 23-year-old Brazilian rider currently racing for BePink-Bongioanni, has signed with Movistar Team for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The move sees Magalhães step into the WorldTour ranks, continuing Brazil’s representation at the top level of women’s cycling after a hiatus since the retirement of Flavia Oliveira.
The Rio de Janeiro-born rider has been making waves in Europe after transitioning to full-time racing on the continent in 2023. Previously competing with the Soltec team at La Vuelta Femenina, she made a significant impact with Bizkaia-Durango before joining BePink. She has had standout performances in several WorldTour races this season, including Fleche Wallonne, Strade Bianche, and the Giro d’Italia Women, where she spent 172km in breakaways during the 2024 editions. Magalhães even claimed the Queen of the Mountains jersey after Stage 2, making her the second Brazilian to wear the Maglia Azzurra after Flávia Oliveira.
“It’s a dream come true, I am beyond happy to make this leap, especially with Movistar Team, a team I’ve always held in high regard. As a rider, I would describe myself as an all-rounder, aggressive in the race, always seeking the breakaway, and taking risks. But what I love most is teamwork. I’m joining Movistar to give everything I can to help my teammates achieve great victories.”
Magalhães’ season has been filled with highlights, including her national time trial victory in Brazil and strong performances in Pan-American races. She has shown her ability to shine on both flat and mountainous terrain, and she looks set to play an essential role in Movistar’s efforts to secure success over the next two years.
With her aggressive riding style and a clear passion for teamwork, Magalhães is keen to integrate into Movistar’s existing structure, providing support in key races. Her upcoming years with Movistar Team are expected to be pivotal in her development as a versatile rider capable of contributing to the team’s success.
