Ella Harris unfortunately won’t start the UCI Women’s WorldTour Strade Bianche race today after she crashed in a training ride yesterday. Ella crashed when the team did a recon of the final 40km of Strade Bianche, suffering a broken femur and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The medical team are assessing her fracture and discussing the best treatment options. We wish Ella all the best for a full recovery!
Update: Ella had a successful surgery on her right leg on Monday 3 August. After a few days of recovery in hospital it’s expected Ella will be allowed to start slowly walking with crutches and will later continue her rehabilitation at the team’s medical partner, BG Klinikum Hamburg.
