Team BikeExchange-Jayco is pleased to confirm the contract renewal of Slovenian climber Urška Žigartthrough to 2024, as the 25-year-old commits to two more seasons, after finding her feet quickly, feeling ‘comfortable’ within the Australian squad.
Žigart enjoyed her first professional victory with the team in May last year after an exceptional 60km solo breakaway during Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, where she displayed to the team and the world her true pedigree of grit and resilience, holding off a fast-chasing peloton to take the special victory.
Since joining Team BikeExchange-Jayco in January 2021, Žigart has selflessly worked to help her teammates day-in-day-out, during a wide variety of races, with GreenEDGE Cycling thrilled to see the Slovenian commit to two more seasons, as a fairly ‘new’ but important member of the Australian outfit on and off the bike.

The atmosphere is what I was expecting when I first signed with the team and I feel like I belong here, so that is why I decided it is a good thing for me to stay and continue growing here.
I feel like I have a lot more potential to fulfil. I want to continue learning and especially with my skills but to also help the other girls get the best results. Of course, the one day that I can race for my own result I will also be really happy, but that is not my main motivation, I want to continue helping the girls and get better and better myself.”
