Vita Heine (Retired)

Vita Heine is a retired Norwegian cyclist who became one of the country’s leading road riders during the 2010s. Born in Latvia before later representing Norway, she was particularly strong in time-trials and selective stage races. Heine won four Norwegian road race titles and three national time-trial championships, alongside overall victories at the Tour de Feminin and NEA and a stage of the Thüringen Ladies Tour.

Career overview

Heine began racing relatively late and represented Latvia before switching to Norway in 2014, the same year she joined Hitec Products. She became Norwegian road race champion in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021 and won the national time-trial title in 2016, 2017 and 2019. Her strongest international season came in 2019, when she won the Tour de Feminin overall, a stage of the Thüringen Ladies Tour and Chrono Champenois, while also finishing second at Chrono des Nations. Heine moved to Massi-Tactic Women Team for 2021 and reclaimed the Norwegian road title during her final professional season before retiring from elite racing.
