Lourdes Oyarbide (Retired)

Lourdes Oyarbide is a retired Spanish cyclist who spent 12 seasons in the professional peloton. A strong rouleur and time-trialist, she became Spanish national champion both against the clock and on the road while also developing into a valuable stage-race rider and domestique. Oyarbide won a stage of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas in 2019 and finished third overall at the Thüringen Ladies Tour before ending her professional career with Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi in 2024.

Career overview

Oyarbide turned professional with Bizkaia-Durango in 2013 and developed into one of Spain’s leading time-trial riders, becoming national champion against the clock in 2017. She joined the newly created Movistar women’s team in 2018 and enjoyed her strongest season the following year, winning the Spanish road race championship and a stage of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas while finishing third overall at the Thüringen Ladies Tour and sixth at Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa. Oyarbide spent six seasons with Movistar before moving to Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi for 2024. She retired at the end of that season after 12 years in the professional peloton.
