Josie Nelson

Josie Nelson is a British professional cyclist who races for Team Picnic PostNL. A versatile rider who is particularly effective on hilly terrain and in selective one-day races, Nelson has developed into one of Britain’s strongest young WorldTour riders. Her results include a stage victory at the Tour de Normandie Féminin, second place at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and podium finishes in major WorldTour stage races, while she has also represented Great Britain and England at international level.

Career overview

Nelson developed through cyclocross and road racing before joining Team Coop-Hitec Products during the 2021 season. That year she finished second in the British elite road race championship, while further progress included fourth at the 2023 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. Nelson stepped up to WorldTour level with Team dsm-firmenich PostNL in 2024 and enjoyed an immediate breakthrough, winning a stage and finishing second overall at the Tour de Normandie Féminin. She continued progressing with Picnic PostNL, taking WorldTour stage podiums at the Giro d’Italia Women and Tour of Britain Women in 2025.
