A quick preview look at Alpes Gresivaudan Classic 2023

Evita Muzic Alpes Gresivaudan Classic 2022

The Alpes Gresivaudan Classic kicked off last season with, forgive me, a classic. Evita Muzic was the pre-race favourite and whilst she took the win, it wasn’t formulaic. Eglantine Rayer, still a junior in 2022, pushed her right up to the finish line. The two will be on the same France national team this year, although they represent FDJ-Suez and Team DSM normally. Only 2 seconds behind was Clara Koppenburg, however the German who rides for Cofidis won’t be returning for 2023’s race. It’s a similar story for the only other rider to finish within a minute of the winner, Adèle Normand. The Canadian now rides for Massi-Tactic and has been a regular during the Spanish part of the season.

It may be a race for Anna Kiesenhofer instead this year, the Israel Premier-Tech Roland rider will be the star of the Development Team that’s racing here. A long-range attack over the mountains would certainly be fun to watch. The likes of Coralie Demay and Simone Boilard will also be threats for St Michel-Mavic-Auber93. Neither is the purest of climbers but they do have a top-10 each from the RideLondon Classique in the last week and will be looking at the top-10 for sure.
