Christine Majerus signs new 2 year deal with SD Worx

Christine Majerus

The Luxembourger Christine Majerus has confirmed that she will spend 2 more years on the SD Worx team. She’s already been a part of the team for 9 years and is the longest-serving member of the team formerly known as Boels Dolmans. Majerus often rides in support of some of the bigger stars, being a valuable cog in the team to chase down attacks, particularly during the spring classics. Then every now and again, she gets to taste the champagne too. She won a small group sprint at Drentse Acht van Westerveld and then it was Omloop van de Westhoek alongside Amy Pieters last year.

She’s also a cyclocross regular, which SD Worx is burgeoning into more and more thanks to the likes of Blanka Vas, plus Lorena Wiebes and Lotte Kopecky race irregularly too. Majerus is a scarely believable 11-time consecutive Luxembourg national champion in cyclocross and will hope to make it 12 this winter.

โ€œI like to help younger riders in their development. Why should I change teams if I’m really enjoying myself at Team SD Worx? I am proud to always be with the number one team in the world. After so many years, they still want to continue with me.

The 35-year-old Majerus often rides for other riders, but was also able to triumph in the SD Worx shirt. With this team I also know that I can drive for my own chance every now and then. On the other hand, I also like to help young riders find their way. This way I can also give something back to cycling that has brought me so much beauty.โ€

โ€œYou can always count on her. She is a good rider who is still reaching her level. All these years we as a team have had a lot of fun with Christine and she is still very motivated.โ€
