Career overview
Pieters was one of the Netherlands’ most accomplished road and track riders, combining sprint speed, Classics strength and endurance. On the road, she won Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in 2014, Dwars door Vlaanderen in 2015, Ronde van Drenthe, GP de Plouay and the Healthy Ageing Tour in 2018, then became European road race champion in 2019. She also won the Dutch national road race title in 2021. On the track, Pieters was a three-time world madison champion from 2019 to 2021. Her racing career ended after a serious training crash in Spain in December 2021, and she was later listed as retired by SD Worx.
