Lucy Kennedy (Retired)
Lucy Kennedy is a retired Australian cyclist who developed into one of the country’s strongest climbers and stage racers during the latter part of the 2010s. A late arrival to professional cycling, she quickly progressed from the Australian domestic scene to the Women’s WorldTour with Mitchelton-Scott. Kennedy won the Women’s Herald Sun Tour and Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria, while also producing strong performances in major stage races before retiring from professional cycling in 2021.

Career overview
Kennedy came to elite cycling relatively late after previously competing in running and triathlon, but quickly established herself as an accomplished climber. She joined High5 Dream Team before stepping up to Mitchelton-Scott in 2018, finishing fifth overall at the Tour Down Under and fourth at the Women’s Herald Sun Tour. Her breakthrough season followed in 2019, when she won the Women’s Herald Sun Tour overall and Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria, while also finishing second at the Women’s Tour Down Under. Kennedy remained an important climbing and stage-racing option for Mitchelton-Scott and later Team BikeExchange, competing in major WorldTour races including the Giro d’Italia Women. She retired from professional cycling during the 2021 season.
