Debora Silvestri has confirmed her place in the Laboral Kutxa-Fundaciรณn Euskadi squad for another two seasons, extending her contract through to 2026. The Italian cyclist, known for her consistency and all-round ability, has been a prominent figure for the Basque team, particularly in the Vuelta and the Classics.

Silvestri, who joined Laboral Kutxa last May, expressed her excitement about the renewal. “I am very happy for this new opportunity. The team has grown a lot in these two years and I am happy to be able to continue this path of growing together with it,” she said. “I hope to be able to raise my level and achieve good results for Laboral Kutxa in the next two years.”

Despite a challenging 2024 season that saw her compete in the Vuelta, Giro and Tour, Silvestri struggled to deliver her best due to crashes and health setbacks. However, she still secured a win at the Pionera Race and finished fourth in the Tour de Ardรจche this year, solidifying her reputation as a versatile rider.

Ion Lazkano, sports manager at Laboral Kutxa-Fundaciรณn Euskadi, spoke highly of Silvestriโ€™s contribution. “It is very good news that Debora will continue with us for two more seasons, as she is a cyclist who has made progress year after year. When the course is tough and uneven, she is a cyclist who has shown her qualities. So we are happy with her renewal.”

The Italian has been a professional since 2018 and has brought both international experience and leadership to the team. Known for her versatility, she has helped lead the squad both individually and collectively.

Silvestri will continue to race alongside teammates Idoia Eraso, Usoa Ostolaza, Ane Santesteban, Catalina Soto, Alba Teruel, Laura Tomasi, Cristina Tonetti and Eneritz Vadillo, all of whom have contracts running through to 2025. More riders are expected to sign with the team in due course for the 2025 season.
