Fruitless delivery at Dwars door het Hageland; Biannic 11th

THE GREAT WORK OF THE MOVISTAR TEAM AND THE CONTINUOUS ATTACKS OF THE FRENCH RUDE IN THE GROUP OF FAVOURITES FAILED TO BREAK THE SUPREMACY OF SD WORX, WITH VAN DEN BROEK-BLAAK PREVAILING AFTER A LONG ESCAPE.

In a spectacular course, with about ten long stretches of cobblestones in the Citadel of Diest, Chantal van den Broek-Blaak (SDW) took her first win of the race Dwars door het Hageland (UCI 1.2), held this Saturday on 122km in Flanders, a land that once again welcomed the Movistar Team, after their first successes of the year in the ‘spring’, but without the same fortune in results that they enjoyed in March and April.

Aude Biannic, 11th, 43″ from the winner, was the most outstanding of a blue squad that did not stop fighting to overcome the presence of Blaak in the break-the former world champion finished first after spending the entire last third of the racein front-. The enormous efforts of Erić, Oyarbide or Teruel, as well as the support of Guarischi (15th) and González until the end, did not however help the squad led by Jorge Sanz to break the dominance of SD Worx, which went out to all and each of Aude’s attacks on the last lap.

The telephone squad , with the same six riders as today, will repeat its presence in Belgium tomorrow Sunday at Dwars door in Westhoek (UCI 1.1), flatter and more suitable for sprinters, which will also be the last race for Movistar Team before the National Championships .
