The elite women’s Superprestige race at Overijse takes place on Sunday 25 October 2026 at 12:40pm GMT. It is the first round of the 2026–27 series, with the opening race staged on the demanding Druivencross circuit in Flemish Brabant. For viewers in Britain, the organiser lists TNT Sports channels for the event and HBO Max among its international streaming broadcasters, subject to territory restrictions.
The important detail is the clock change overnight. The race begins at 13:40 CET in Belgium, after the clocks have moved back, which makes it 12:40 GMT in the UK. Using Saturday’s British Summer Time for Sunday’s programme would give the wrong start time. The elite men are scheduled to race later, at 2:10pm GMT.
Women’s Superprestige Overijse start time in the UK
The official organiser programme places the elite women on the line at 13:40 Belgian time, 12:40 UK time. Sunday’s morning events include the Special Olympics at 09:30, junior men at 10:30 and junior women at noon, all in Belgium’s CET timezone. The women’s elite race then occupies the first of the two main senior slots before the elite men begin at 15:10 CET.
Belgium runs one hour ahead of Britain during the winter. On 25 October, Central European Summer Time has ended and Central European Time has begun, just as British Summer Time has become Greenwich Mean Time. Check that any electronic calendar invitation or broadcaster listing automatically recognises the switch. The event is taking place in the afternoon, not at the time sometimes quoted in older Overijse television guides.
Where to watch Overijse women on UK television
The official Superprestige Overijse broadcaster list identifies TNT Sports 3 and TNT Sports 8 for the UK. It covers the event rather than assigning an individual race to one specific channel. Check the channel schedules on Sunday for the live women’s coverage and allow a few minutes before the 12:40pm start. If a channel is carrying a different sporting event, the other listed channel or the streaming event tile may carry the cross.
For online viewers, TNT Sports cycling is available through the relevant HBO Max sports subscription in Britain. In the app, look under live sports or cycling and search for Superprestige or Overijse. HBO Max availability outside Britain does not imply that every foreign broadcast can be watched from a UK account; the event organiser explicitly notes geographical restrictions on its worldwide listing.
Do not confuse a programme showing the day’s highlights with live coverage. A later recap may feature the decisive laps but will not help viewers who want to watch from the start. The official Belgian broadcasters are Play Sports and Pickx+ Sports, while the organiser separately lists Eurosport in various European territories and FloSports in North America and Australasia. They do not replace the verified UK TNT broadcaster information.
Watching the women’s race live online
The simplest route is to open the sports section of the HBO Max service supplied with your subscription, then check for an event marked live on Sunday. Some TV subscriptions include TNT Sports via a set-top box or provider app instead. Whether a replay is offered depends on that platform, so anyone planning to watch later should confirm it in advance rather than assuming it will be saved automatically.
If you cannot find the event at 12:30pm, search under the Belgian name Druivencross as well as the Superprestige series title. The women’s and men’s races may be separate programme tiles even though they take place at the same venue on the same afternoon. The event organisers’ published start time remains the strongest reference when a third-party television grid uses an approximate slot.
The course and why Overijse matters
Overijse has a different character from a race built around sustained sand riding. The Belgian circuit is better known for its climbing, technical descents and the repeated need to carry speed into difficult corners. When the ground is dry, riders can attack the climbs and exploit strong accelerations; when it gets wet, balance, tyre choice and the willingness to run can decide whether a small gap grows or disappears.
The early laps matter because traffic can be costly on a narrow, steep section, but a fast start is not enough. The riders who make fewer mistakes after 30 or 40 minutes often move through the field as others begin to brake too hard or lose traction on the exits. Unlike road racing, where a rider may recover in a group, small cyclocross mistakes can be punished immediately when the next rider can accelerate through a clear line.
The Superprestige competition rewards consistency across eight rounds. One result cannot decide the overall classification, but a strong opening race gives a useful base before the calendar becomes busier. Our full cyclocross calendar sets out the other series and major race weekends.
Who are the women’s contenders?
Sara Casasola returns in the role of defending Overijse winner after beating Lucinda Brand and Aniek van Alphen in the 2025 event. Brand won in 2024, while Fem van Empel took the 2023 race. That recent history illustrates the quality of winner needed on this circuit, but it is not a substitute for the final 2026 start list.
The ProCyclingUK women’s preview examines Brand, Casasola and the course demands in more detail, noting where participation still needed final confirmation. On Friday 23 October, published contender lists included names such as Brand, Van Alphen and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. Those listings can change before the start, and no rider should be declared a confirmed starter solely because she appears in a preview.
Keep an eye on the first uphill accelerations and the final turns before the finishing straight. A rider looking for an early break may be able to open a gap through clean technique rather than a single explosive attack. If several contenders stay together deep into the race, the decisive move might come when one rider makes a line choice that lets her carry a little more speed out of a corner.
Following the race and attending in person
Spectators will find the venue at Begijnhof in Overijse, south-east of Brussels. The organiser lists adult admission at €16.50 in advance including fees or €18.50 on race day. Children born in 2014 or later can enter free but still need a ticket. Event parking is signposted via the surrounding roads, with temporary traffic measures possible around the circuit.
For viewers wanting more than the broadcast, our Overijse race history tracks its leading winners and changing position in the winter calendar. The cyclocross beginner’s guide explains the pits, bike changes and lap format that make the action intelligible even for someone watching their first race. The men’s event follows the women at 2:10pm GMT.
