Juniors and novices active in the Grand Prix Anna van der Breggen

The third edition of the Omloop van Noordwest Overijssel for newcomers and junior women was planned for the spring, but due to the corona virus, this appealing competition had to be postponed. Fortunately, the competition can take place on Saturday 26 September 2020. The juniors and newcomers of TALENT Elabo Development Team are there.

“Because of the measures it is a somewhat different course than last year, but that should not spoil the fun,” says trainer Stefan van Klink. “The course is still challenging. Fans are always lurking in this race, so it is a great opportunity for our riders to put what they have learned into practice here. ”

Genemuiden still serves as a start and finish location, but instead of the characteristic harbor square, the finish is now on the industrial estate, where it is easier to keep people at a distance. The course has also changed, although the flat land in the north of Overijssel remains central. “It’s well considered, but minor adjustments, from a racing point of view. The most important thing is that we can ride a race like this. ”

Norah Minck, Fleur van der Peet, Marit Wasmus, Carola van de Wetering, Zoë van Velzen, Nina Maathuis and Lisa van Belle want to show themselves in this interesting competition.

The race for junior and newcomers women has been on the calendar since 2018 and since this season it has been named after Anna van der Breggen, who was born in Hasselt, one of the towns on the route. A race over 63 kilometers will start at 9 a.m., the finish is expected around 11 a.m.
