Karlijn Swinkels
Karlijn Swinkels is a Dutch professional cyclist who races for UAE Team L’IMAD. A strong all-rounder particularly suited to hilly one-day races and demanding Classics, she combines a fast finish with strong time-trial ability. A former junior world time-trial champion, Swinkels has developed into one of the most consistent Dutch riders in the Women’s WorldTour, with victories including Trofeo Alfredo Binda, Grand Prix de Wallonie and Trofeo Oro in Euro.

Career overview
Swinkels established herself as a major talent by winning the junior time-trial at the 2016 World Championships. She turned professional the following year and earned her first international road victory with a stage of the 2019 Vuelta a Burgos. After joining Team Jumbo-Visma Women, she developed into a consistent Classics and stage-race performer, finishing third overall at the 2022 Simac Ladies Tour. Swinkels moved to UAE Team ADQ in 2024, winning Grand Prix de Wallonie and finishing third overall at the Vuelta a Burgos. She added Trofeo Oro in Euro in 2025 before enjoying another breakthrough in 2026, winning Trofeo Binissalem-Andratx and the Women’s WorldTour-level Trofeo Alfredo Binda while also finishing sixth at the Tour of Flanders.
