Katie Scott returns to DAS-Hutchinson after East Cleveland Classic win

DAS-Hutchinson have confirmed the return of Katie Scott, with the British rider rejoining the squad ahead of her debut at Amstel Gold Race.

Scott is already familiar with the team, having previously raced with the structure from 2020 to 2023. Her return comes at a strong point in her season after victory at the East Cleveland Classic, a result that has also put her into the lead of the National Road Series.

Scott back with familiar team

DAS-Hutchinson announced the move with a warmly framed message, welcoming Scott “home” as they confirmed her return to the team.

The signing brings her back into a set-up she knows well. Her previous four-year spell with the squad gives the move a different feel from a standard mid-season arrival, as she returns to an environment where she already understands the team culture, race programme and expectations.

Scott said the move carried extra meaning because DAS-Hutchinson was where her career first developed.

“I’m really excited to be back with the team where it all started for me,” Scott said. “After some time away from the sport in 2023, I’ve come back stronger and more motivated than ever, and I’m looking forward to what we can achieve together this season.”

East Cleveland Classic win gives Scott momentum

Scott’s return comes fresh from victory at the East Cleveland Classic, one of the key races on the British domestic calendar. That result has also moved her into the lead of the National Road Series, underlining the level of consistency she has shown in the early part of the season.

For a rider rejoining a team mid-campaign, that kind of momentum matters. It gives Scott a clear sporting platform, while also strengthening DAS-Hutchinson’s position around the domestic road scene.

The team’s announcement described her as fresh from a win at the East Cleveland Classic and highlighted her place at the top of the National Road Series standings. That makes the move less about future potential alone and more about adding a rider who is already producing results.

Amstel Gold Race debut comes immediately

Scott is set to make her first appearance back with DAS-Hutchinson at Amstel Gold Race, giving her an immediate step into one of the most distinctive races on the spring calendar.

The Dutch Classic is built around repeated climbs, constant changes in road width and the kind of positioning pressure that can make the race difficult long before the final selection is made. For Scott, it is a sharp return to team colours, but also an opportunity to carry her current form into a bigger international environment.

DAS-Hutchinson’s message made clear the team’s enthusiasm at having her back, saying they “couldn’t be happier” to have Scott return.

The move gives Scott a familiar base at a moment when her season is already moving strongly. For DAS-Hutchinson, it adds a proven domestic performer, a returning rider with team history and another option as the squad heads into a demanding block of racing.
