Mauritian rider Kim Le Court, known for her impressive performances at the African Games, is set to join AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step from 1 January 2024. The 27-year-old all-rounder will primarily serve as a domestique, supporting the team in classics and stage races, while exploring her potential on the road. Expressing her excitement about this new opportunity, Kim said, “Joining AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step is a dream come true, especially coming from a small island like Mauritius. This is a fantastic chance to inspire more Africans to chase their dreams. Iโ€™m eager to improve and achieve podiums with the team.”

Team Manager Natascha den Ouden praised Kim’s versatility and determination. Despite her last major road race being six years ago, her performance at the World Championships in Glasgow, with no specific road preparation, left a positive impression. Den Ouden highlighted Kimโ€™s specialisation in gravel and MTB, aligning well with the team’s youthful project.

Kim started cycling at 12, influenced by her cycling-enthusiast family. She dreamed of representing Mauritius in the African Championships, World Championships, and the Olympics. Kim achieved her first two goals, with notable performances in the XCO African Continental Championships and XCO World Championships. Her focus is primarily on road cycling, though she also enjoys mountain biking.

2013 marked her first XCO race at the African Continental Championships, followed by participation in the Worlds XCO 2013 and African Champs XCO 2014. Kim achieved a Top 5 finish at the Youth Olympics in Beijing in 2017 and won the Amashova, one of South Africa’s biggest Classics. In 2023, Kim, riding for the Biogen-backed Efficient Infiniti Insure Pro MTB Ladies team, secured multiple African Championship titles and victories in road and mountain bike races. She triumphed for the fourth time in the Cape Town Cycle Tour and, alongside teammate Vera Looser, dominated the Absa Cape Epic, one of the world’s toughest mountain bike stage races.
