The second stage of the 2024 RideLondon Classique sees another flattish stage but with plenty of British rollers thrown in. You can see from the profile below that there are spikes and opportunities to either attack or wear down rivals. There’s also a sting in the tail as the finish in Maldon definitely isn’t flat! It’s short but a steep little kicker that might see some of the purer sprinters drop but won’t be a problem for the likes of Lorena Wiebes.

Wiebes won the first stage easily yesterday and has a chance to go 3 from 3 again this season. Today is the only stage where maybe they pull something for Lotte Kopecky but there’s no reason Wiebes can’t win this one too. Charlotte Kool struggled at the key moment after a gradient to the finish line and that probably doesn’t bode well for the finish today. Someone like Soraya Paladin has a chance to contest today as well.
