After a successful sprint victory for Elisa Balsamo yesterday, the Italian will once more start as the pre-stage favourite. There is plenty of late climbing again, so it really depends on if a GC rider decides to take up the challenge. Kasia Niewiadoma attacked a few times yesterday before securing 4th in the sprint, the Pole looks like she will be active in this race. The late climbs have been raced before at Setmana Ciclista Valenciana but always positioned much earlier in the stage, so it will be a test to see how effective they are at creating a race situation. Opportunities will be there to beat the sprint trains today.
