Lucia Jounier today took the 4 th place in the sprint, the Round of Mouscron, Belgium.
Lucie Jounier: “The Ronde de Mouscron is a circuit event, without cobblestones or mountains, but which however included many laps. You had to be well placed, vigilant all the time, with the bumpy roads. The race was done from behind, with only attempts at group breakaways. But, in the end, the victory was decided in a sprint. I haven’t pedalled too hard all day, the whole team has been around me. My teammates worked for me constantly, they jumped after all the attempts to break away. I thank them, it gave me confidence.
“They put me up there before the sprint, and in the penultimate corner, I was in the wheel of the winner of this competition, then there was an unseen object, and I almost fell. I lost the race winner’s wheel, and I finally turned in the fourth position and I could not push up. I am a little disappointed, but I am still making progress in this type of race which I appreciate”.
