Mara Roldan

Mara Roldan is a Canadian professional cyclist who races for Team Picnic PostNL. A versatile rider with a background in mountain biking, she developed rapidly after moving into road racing and earned a WorldTour contract following two seasons with Cynisca Cycling. Roldan’s breakthrough came in 2025 when she won a stage of the Tour of Britain Women with a long solo attack, shortly before a fractured femur interrupted her season.

Career overview

Roldan initially focused on mountain biking before increasingly turning towards road racing. She joined Cynisca Cycling during 2023 and enjoyed a breakthrough 2024 season, winning two stages of the Redlands Bicycle Classic and a stage of the Volta a Portugal Feminina while finishing third in the Canadian road championship. Roldan stepped up to the WorldTour with Team Picnic PostNL in 2025 and finished tenth at Amstel Gold Race before taking her first WorldTour victory on Stage 2 of the Tour of Britain Women with a 14-kilometre solo attack. A crash the following day left her with a fractured femur and required surgery. She returned to racing in 2026 and continued with Team Picnic PostNL as she rebuilt her programme at WorldTour level.
