Italian sprinter Martina Fidanza has joined Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women, signing a two-year contract after making the switch from Ceratizit-WNT. The 24-year-old, who hails from a well-known cycling family, brings significant promise after several strong results this season.

Fidanza, clearly thrilled by the move, spoke about her excitement: “This is a dream come true. I am super proud to be part of Team Visma | Lease a Bike next season because I consider it one of the best teams in the world. In addition, I greatly admire the team’s approach.”

Having secured two stage wins in this year’s Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour and victory in the GP Mazda Schelkens, Fidanza’s transfer to Visma marks an exciting new chapter. She also earned third place in both the Scheldeprijs and the Ronde de Mouscron. Speaking on her goals, Fidanza added, “I hope I get to celebrate many more wins in the coming seasons, but my ultimate goal is to win a WorldTour race.”

With her track record, it is evident Fidanza is ready to test herself against the best in the peloton. “With Marianne Vos and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, I will be racing with two great champions. I expect to learn a lot from them and I want to give them the best possible support in races,” she explained.

Team Visma manager Rutger Tijssen is equally optimistic about Fidanza’s future. “Martina has already achieved some good results. We believe that we can develop her into a sprinter capable of competing with the best in the WorldTour,” he said, highlighting how the team carefully considered where they needed reinforcements. Tijssen noted that Fidanza is expected to form a sprint duo with Nienke Veenhoven for next season.

The Italian sprinter, already a three-time track world champion, comes from a family steeped in cycling. Her sister Arianna also rides for Ceratizit-WNT, and their father, Giovanni, competed professionally during the 1990s. Now, with Visma, Martina will aim to take her road career to the next level. “I expect to make great strides in the coming years,” Fidanza said, fully aware of the opportunities ahead.
