In the tenth edition of Klimomloop Ulestraten Nancy van der Burg made it into the decisive breakaway. With a group of six they managed to maintain a big lead until the finish line. In the sprint between the leaders van der Burg only had to put up with Nina Kessler and she finished second.
‘’One rider was already ahead and with eleven laps to go I decided to attack on a climb and make the jump. Four others followed, so we ended up with six in the lead,” Nancy tells. ”I tried to make a move again on the climb in the final lap, but after the first acceleration, I noticed this strategy wouldn’t work. If I wanted to make it onto the podium, I had to go for the sprint. Second place was the best we could do today, even though we were aiming for the win. After a tough week, I’m definitely satisfied with the result.”
