Preview Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

The Classics season is finally upon us. The NXTG by Experza team starts in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday, the Craywinkelhof Omloop van het Hageland on Sunday and the GP le Samyn on Tuesday. These are three fast and hard races with the best riders of the world. Gaia Masetti, Maud Rijnbeek and Mylène de Zoete start their first Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Ilse Pluimers and Julia Borgström their second and Lone Meertens lines up for the fourth time already.

“The Omloop is a very hectic race where it is super important to position yourself well. I am sure Jolien will help us with that. This weekend I will support the team as much as I can to make sure our leaders are at the front when they need to be. It’s hard to define expectations because this race is very hard and unpredictable. We need to communicate well and just make it a good race for the team.”

Sports director Jolien d’Hoore is confident for the task ahead on Saturday in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

“I do expect a lot from the team. The atmosphere is really good and our riders are strong. They returned from our training camp in Spain in good shape and also showed during the recon this weekend they are doing well. I am looking forward to it because it’s also my first time behind the wheel. I will help and guide them as well as I can. We have a great team of riders who despite their age are really experienced already.
