The organisers of La Vuelta a Espaรฑa have announced the 22 teams set to contest the 80th edition of the race, taking place from 23rd August to 14th September 2025. As expected, all 18 UCI WorldTeams receive automatic entry, joined by the two highest-ranked ProTeamsโ€”Lotto and Israel โ€“ Premier Techโ€”and three wildcard selections, including a first appearance for Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.

The Swiss-based squad joins Burgos-Burpellet-BH and Caja Rural-Seguros RGA as the invited ProTeams for this yearโ€™s race, which starts in Piemonte, Italy, and finishes in Madrid.

“I’m absolutely thrilled about this invitation. La Vuelta has been a key goal for us this year,” said Q36.5 General Manager Doug Ryder. “With a strong group of Spanish riders and staff, the energy within our team is electric.”

Despite being new to La Vuelta as a team, Q36.5 boasts considerable experience within its ranks. Fifteen of their current 25 riders have previously raced La Vuelta, combining for 36 appearances since 2013. That includes stage podiums, wins, and even time in the red jersey. Their wildcard comes just days after receiving a similar invitation to the Giro dโ€™Italia, confirming the teamโ€™s growing status within the pro peloton.

Pidcock returns to La Vuelta with big ambitions

Among the most recognisable names on the team is Tom Pidcock, who made his Grand Tour debut at La Vuelta in 2021 and returns this year with greater expectations.

“Itโ€™s very exciting that weโ€™ve received an invitation to ride La Vuelta! I havenโ€™t checked all the stages yet, but I do know there is one stage finish in Andorra. Thatโ€™s where I live, so itโ€™s definitely something to look forward to,” Pidcock said. “This yearโ€™s edition also features the iconic climbs of Angliru and Bola del Mundo.”

“Back then, everything was new, but this year, I go in with a lot more experience and higher expectationsโ€”especially with the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team by my side.”

In just three seasons, Q36.5 has gone from WorldTour wildcard entries to securing spots at two Grand Tours in the same season. The teamโ€™s rise, driven by performance and strategic backing, is capped by this latest milestone.

“Weโ€™re not just here to raceโ€”weโ€™re here to light up the show.”
