Lorena Wiebes claimed victory in stage three of the 2024 Tour of Britain Women, winning a fast-paced 106.8km stage that ended with a sprint finish in Warrington. The stage was marked by a series of breakaway attempts, with Jo Tindley and Maddie Leech managing to establish a lead of four minutes early on. Leech took maximum points on both Queen of the Mountains climbs, but the breakaway was reeled in before the final 15km, leaving the stage set for a bunch sprint.
SD Worx-Protime controlled the peloton in the final kilometres, setting up Wiebes for a perfectly timed sprint. She crossed the line first, with Charlotte Kool and Georgia Baker completing the podium. Despite strong challenges, the coordinated lead-out by SD Worx-Protime proved decisive.
Lotte Kopecky retained her lead in the general classification as the race heads into its final stage in Greater Manchester. With everything still to play for, the final day promises an exciting showdown to crown the overall winner.
