Valcar – Travel & Service, from the youth section the victory of the junior Francesca Pellegrini

The secret of the successes of Valcar – Travel & Service is the in-depth knowledge of the youth sector. In fact, current champions like Silvia Persico (and, in recent years, athletes like Elisa Balsamo and Marta Cavalli) have followed a path of growth and planning since we were less than 18 years old.

A story similar to that of Silvia Persico (in the Valcar jersey since she was 13) is that of the junior Francesca Pellegrini who last Sunday won the 1st GP City of Gossolengo, in the province of Piacenza, regulating with an imperious sprint the eleven athletes with whom she had an advantage in the final.
Despite a 30-minute break necessary to rescue some girls after a fall, the athlete led by Andrea Manzini has not lost concentration, perfectly managing a sprint that did not suit her on paper.

“After the suspension of the race, the first group was made up of 29 girls; at that point it was difficult to avoid finishing the sprint, “explains the winner, who showed off strength and tactical intelligence on the finish straight. “The U.C. Conscio, Ciclismo Insieme, Breganze Millenium and Team Gauss had two girls in the leading squad. I christened the train of Consciousness and, when out of the corner of my eye I saw that the sprint had been launched, I launched my sprint arriving first at the finish line. An unexpected victory and therefore even more satisfying ”.

Satisfaction shared with the sports director Andrea Manzini.
“Francesca was good at not losing concentration during the neutralization. The first part of the race was very fast and there was a lot of uphill battle. Staying still for 30 minutes, with the risk of getting cold, could be an unknown factor: luckily we were good at managing the situation well “.

In addition to the victory of the junior Francesca Pellegrini, Valcar – Travel & Service also posted the fourth place of the elite Ilaria Sanguineti at the Gold Trophy in Euro, an international event held in Tuscany. An important result because it gives continuity to the Top Ten obtained by the Valcar – Travel & Service girls in this first month of competitions.

The next events for the girls directed by Davide Arzeni will be the GP Oetingen (Belgium) on Wednesday 9 March, the Drenthe 8 van Westerveld (Holland) on Friday 11 March and the World Tour Ronde van Drenthe (Holland) race on Saturday 12 March.

Line Up GP Oetingen: Anastasia Carbonari, Carlotta Cipressi, Chiara Consonni, Eleonora Gasparrini, Silvia Persico, Ilaria Sanguineti, Margaux Vigié
