Women`s Tour: Liv Racing Xstra ready to go

The Women`s Tour marks the debut of Thalita de Jong for Liv Racing Xstra. The team will start with five riders in the Women`s World Tour stage race.

The 2022 edition gets underway in Colchester on Monday 6 June, before finishing in Oxford on Saturday 11 June. The first two stages give a possibility for a sprint finish, in stage three and four the climbing begins with several hills in both stages. Stage five is the Queen stage, with a summit finish at Black Mountain (7.2 km, 5.3% average). The sixth and final stage is likely to be one for the sprinters.

Liv Racing Xstra starts with a new face in the team`s line-up. Thalita de Jong will make her race debut for the team. She will be accompanied by Eva Buurman, Alison Jackson, Tereza Neumanova and Quinty Ton.

Sports director Wim Stroetinga previews on the race: “We will aim for a stage win. We want to start in the right way and ride as a collective. The first stage we hope for a sprint and we aim for a good result with Tereza. From there we will look it day by day. After the fourth stage we will see how we stand in the GC and that will determine the race plan for the fifth stage. Quinty has a free role in that stage, so she can show herself there. Of course we hope she will be in a good position for the GC too, just like Alison. But we will see after the first stages.”
