Today was the first edition of Trophée des Grimpeuses. The Belgian one-day race around Vresse-Sur-Mois covered 105.4km and many hills.
The pace was high from the start and there were a lot of attacks. Eventually three riders were able to break away and Anouska Koster made it into the first chasing group. The three leaders stayed ahead to the finish line with Inge van der Heijden taking the win.
Anouska Koster: ‘’We aimed for more than a sixth place today but unfortunately this was it. It was a tough but beautiful race through a stunning climbing area. It was good for all of us to get back into the racing rhythm and we’ll go for it again tomorrow in Isbergues. ’’
