After yesterday’s summit finish saw the GC order shaken up, Stage 3 of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas returns to being one for the sprinters again. A few hills add a little bit of challenge to the route but there are plenty of flat areas to catch back on before the finish line. Lorena Wiebes will be the major favourite, especially after Elisa Balsamo left the race on Stage 1. If she doesn’t win today it will be a major shock.
There also shouldn’t be much change in the GC by the end of today but the opportunity will be here for a strong stage finish for some riders in what is a relatively weaker sprint field for a Women’s WorldTour race. There is a small chance for echelons but it’s not quite perfect for them to be race-defining.
