Ready for the Muur de Huy

Our roster for the 124km La Flรฉche Wallonne will be Alena Amialiusik, Hannah Barnes, Elena Cecchini, Tiffany Cromwell, Kasia Niewiadoma and Alexis Ryan.

After a large start lap the peloton return to Huy for two finishing circuits, including the infamous Muur de Huy. Alexis, returns to racing with her first race in Europe for the 2020 season on Wednesdayโ€™s UCI Womenโ€™s WorldTour race.

โ€œE X C I T E D. Thatโ€™s how I feel about racing La Flรฉche Wallonne. It was a big question mark on whether I would be able to race this year, but Iโ€™m here now and ready to go,โ€ exclaimed Alexis.

โ€œThe beginning of the race is similar to last year, but the finishing circuit has made a significant change. The Cherave has been replaced with the Chemin des Gueuses, meaning there are more kilometres between the penultimate climb and the Huy. Attacks will go on Chemin des Gueuses, but itโ€™s longer and more steady than the Cherave. I predict the race will be decided on the final ascent of the Huy.โ€

Alexis will start in a support role in her fourth time racing La Flรฉche Wallonne.

โ€œItโ€™s been a long hiatus from racing. My biggest goal is to support my teammates. Theyโ€™ve been racing well the last couple of months. I want to help get one of them on the podium! My side-goals are to find my racing nerve and legs,โ€ said Alexis.

The race starts at 08:40CEST on Wednesday 30 September and can be followed on Twitter with #FWwomen and #UCIWWT.
