Maria Martins

Maria Martins is a Portuguese professional cyclist who races for Canyon SRAM. A fast and versatile rider, she combines road racing with an accomplished track career and has represented Portugal at multiple Olympic Games and World Championships. Martins is a two-time Portuguese road race champion and has won medals at both the Track World and European Championships, including bronze in the omnium at the 2022 World Championships.

Career overview

Martins turned professional with Sopela Women’s Team in 2018 before joining Drops in 2020. She became Portuguese road race champion in 2021 and finished fifth at Classic Brugge-De Panne and sixth in the European road race in 2022. Her track career has been equally important, with bronze in the scratch at the 2020 World Championships, bronze in the omnium in 2022 and the European scratch title in 2023. After racing for Fenix-Deceuninck in 2023, Martins concentrated on the track in 2024 before returning to the Women’s WorldTour with Canyon SRAM in 2025. She reclaimed the Portuguese road race title in 2026 while continuing to compete internationally on both road and track.
