Two more top-ten in Belgium
The Frenchwoman resisted bravely in a group of top-level pursuers after the winner, Van den Broek-Blaak (DLT); Teruel (10th) and Erić -11th and leader of the Lotto Cycling Cup-, at the head of the squad’s sprint.
Third test of the women’s Movistar Team abroad in 2020 and third great effort of women led by Jorge Sanz in Le Samyn des Dames (UCI 1.2), only 94 km test between Quaregnon and Dour but with a dozen long sections of pavé and levels, very similar to those in the Paris-Roubaix, on the other side of the border on Walloon soil.
Aude Biannic lograba la 6ª posición tras cerrar el grupo perseguidor de una intratable Chantal Van den Broek-Blaak (DLT), vencedora en solitario por delante de Christine Majerus (DLT) y Lotte Kopecky (LTS). La excampeona mundial puso pronto tierra de por medio sobre un grupo perseguidor de 13 ciclistas con hasta cinco Movistar Team: Biannic, Sheyla Gutiérrez, Alicia González, Jelena Erić y una Barbara Guarischi luego descolgada por problemas mecánicos.
El segundo escalón se seleccionó después, con Biannic aguantando -y atacando en varias ocasiones sin éxito cerca del final- frente a una talentosa oposición, con las citadas Kopecky y Majerus, Van den Bos (DLT) y Van Dijk (TFS). Por detrás, en el sprint del pelotón, Alba Teruel lograba la 10ª posición, con Erić -líder de la Lotto Cycling Cup-, justo por detrás en 11º puesto. Son, así, cuatro top-ten para Movistar Team en tres carreras fuera de España en 2020.
