Jip van den Bos (Retired)

Jip van den Bos is a retired Dutch cyclist who built her career around the northern European Classics and fast one-day races. A strong and durable rider with a good finishing kick, she spent eight seasons in the professional peloton with Parkhotel Valkenburg, Boels Dolmans and Team Jumbo-Visma Women. Her biggest victory came at Le Samyn des Dames in 2019, during a season in which she also finished third at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

Career overview

Van den Bos turned professional with Parkhotel Valkenburg in 2015 and quickly showed promise in one-day racing, while also finishing sixth overall at the 2016 Tour of Chongming Island. She joined Boels Dolmans in 2017 and enjoyed her strongest season two years later, winning Le Samyn des Dames and finishing third at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Van den Bos remained a consistent performer in the cobbled and northern Classics, adding fourth at Le Samyn in 2020. She moved to the newly formed Team Jumbo-Visma Women for 2021 and continued racing at WorldTour level for two seasons, finishing ninth at the 2022 Ronde van Drenthe. Van den Bos retired from professional cycling at the end of the 2022 season.
