Shara Marche (Retired)
Shara Marche is a retired Australian professional cyclist, formerly known as Shara Gillow, who specialised in climbing and time-trialling. A four-time Australian time-trial champion and Olympian, she spent a decade racing at the top level of women’s cycling and recorded strong results in major stage races and Ardennes Classics.

Career overview
Marche, who raced under her maiden name Shara Gillow for much of her career, won four Australian time-trial titles between 2011 and 2015 and three Oceania time-trial championships. She represented Australia at the 2012 London Olympics, finishing 13th in the time-trial, and recorded top-ten overall finishes at the Giro d’Italia Women and Thüringen Rundfahrt. Marche also won stages at the Giro d’Italia, Giro del Trentino and Thüringen Rundfahrt. Her strongest Classics season came in 2017, when she finished fifth at La Flèche Wallonne, fifth at La Course by Le Tour de France, sixth at Strade Bianche and seventh at Liège-Bastogne-Liège. She retired from professional cycling at the end of 2020.
