Tamara Dronova Claims Victory in Fourth Stage of Vuelta a El Salvador

Russian cyclist Tamara Dronova seized triumph in the fourth stage of the Vuelta Ciclista El Salvador, clocking a time of 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 19 seconds. This marks her second consecutive win after yesterday’s triumph in the third stage.

The race, starting from the National Palace of Santa Ana and culminating in Metapán, covered a distance of 94.1 kilometres. Dronova, riding for Team Roland, emerged victorious in the challenging circuit, reaffirming her strong sprint against this level of opposition. Behind her, Ukrainian Olga Shekel finished 2nd ahead of Sylvie Swinkels in 3rd place.

Having split the race up into a small group of 15 riders at the front, it helped to ensure that Rolan was able to finish 1-2-3 in the GC during the Vuelta a El Salvador. Elena Hartmann maintained the lead she had had since the opening day prologue, finishing strong in the yellow jersey. Today’s winner Tamara Dronova finished 2nd in GC ahead of Cypriot Antri Christoforou.

Elated by her success, Dronova emphasised the significance of the victory, especially considering her prior triumph. “It’s a testament to my hard work and dedication,” she remarked.

Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, highlighted the event’s significance in bolstering El Salvador’s international standing in cycling and tourism. He expressed pride in the nation’s ability to host such prestigious competitions amidst an environment of enhanced security. Throughout the race, he noted the Salvadorans lining the roads, offering fervent support to the cyclists, underscoring the event’s resonance within the local community and beyond.
