Sofie Van Rooijen

Sofie van Rooijen is a Dutch professional cyclist who rides for UAE Team L’IMAD. A fast finisher with particular strength in one-day races and reduced-group sprints, she has developed into one of the Netherlands’ most promising Classics riders and is a former European under-23 road race champion.

Career overview

Van Rooijen made her professional breakthrough in 2024, winning Drentse Acht van Westerveld, EPZ Omloop van Borsele, Konvert Koerse and Grote Prijs Beerens before becoming European under-23 road race champion. She joined UAE Team ADQ for 2025 and quickly adapted to Women’s WorldTour racing, winning stage two of the Tour of Chongming Island, taking the points classification and finishing second overall. Her 2026 season began with third place at Trofeo Llucmajor as she continued with the organisation under its UAE Team L’IMAD identity.
