The Région Pays de la Loire Tour Féminin returns for its second edition in 2025, continuing its early steps on the international calendar as a UCI 2.1 event. Launched in 2024, the race provided a new opportunity for both French domestic teams and international Continental squads to race on French soil, with its opening chapter producing a reduced group sprint finish in Saumur.
In last year’s debut, Michaela Drummond powered to victory on the streets of Saumur, giving Arkea-B&B Hotels their first win of the season and adding her name as the inaugural winner of the event. Drummond had emerged from a ten-rider group formed on the final climb of Rue Chèvre, a short and sharp ascent 5km from the finish that once again features in 2025. The podium was completed by Victorie Guilman and Lucinda Stewart, but none of the 2024 top three appear on this year’s startlist.
Arkea-B&B Hotels are back for the second edition, but Drummond is not among their selected riders. With the absence of all three riders from the 2024 podium, the race is guaranteed a new winner in 2025, opening the door for a fresh name to be added to the history of the event.
The field is again a mix of established Continental teams and ambitious regional squads. Names such as VolkerWessels Pro Cycling Team, Eneicat-CM Team, DAS-Hutchinson, and Smurfit Westrock Cycling Team add depth, while the French presence includes St Michel-Preference Home-Auber 93, Team Féminin Chambéry, Team ELLES-Vertou-Rayo Nantes, and Team Centre-Val de Loire Féminin.
As the race continues to establish itself, 2025’s edition provides another key chance for up-and-coming riders to take a career-first international win on French roads.
