On Easter Sunday, according to tradition, comes one of the highlights of the cycling season for the Alé BTC Ljubljana team, the Tour of Flanders.
This cycling monument classic will bring together the best cobbled specialists in the international women’s cycling panorama.
Team manager Fortunato Lacquaniti‘s team will be captained by Italian Marta Bastianelli, who won this race in 2019. At her side she will be able to count on a solid team with Maaike Boogaard, Eugenia Bujak, Tatiana Guderzo, Marlen Reusser and Laura Tomasi.
The 152.4km Ronde van Vlaanderen 2021 starts and finishes in Oudenaarde and features climbs and cobblestones that have made cycling history. Among the crucial passages of the race are the Molenberg (-75 km), the Taaienberg (-40 km), the Kruisberg (-26 km) and the last two decisive climbs, the Oude Kwaremont (-16 km) and the Paterberg (-13 km). The race will be broadcast live by Eurosport and GCN, from 4.45pm to 6.45pm.
But the Tour of Flanders will not be the only Belgian event in the coming days. In fact, on Easter Monday the Italian team will start the Ronde de Mouscron, Wednesday 7 April at the women’s Scheldeprijs.
