Most winningest riders in the women’s peloton 2021

Lorena Wiebes (Medium)

With the 2021 season now officially in the books, we can take a look at which riders took the most victories over the year. Most of the riders listed her won’t be a surprise, the stars of the sport and the names who have been near the forefront of all the race previews I’ve written during the 2021 season. There is the odd name you wouldn’t expect though. Thanks to her dominance at the Vuelta a Colombia Femenina, Lilibeth Chacon has more wins that riders like Demi Vollering and Elisa Longo Borghini. It’s a similar story for the new Colombia national champion, Lorena Colmenares. She took 2 stages and the Overall at the Vuelta Femenina a Guatemala before winning that national championship.

The top-3 winning riders in 2021

Lorena Wiebes (13 wins)

3 – WWT
5 – .Pro
4 – .1
1 – .2

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Lorena Wiebes heads this list. After getting off to a slow start in 2021, Wiebes has won almost every sprint opportunity presented to her. There was also a prologue stage victory at the Festival Elsy Jacobs for good measure. It’s become obvious that we’re seeing a generational talent at work here, with a team fully committed behind her.

Annemiek van Vleuten (12 wins)

7 – WWT
4 – .1
1 – Olympics

The winner of the season-long Women’s WorldTour competition, Annemiek van Vleuten continues to dominate women’s racing at the age of 38. She took a mix of victories against the clock on the time trial bike, mountain finishes, GC battles and on the cobbles of Flanders.

Anna van der Breggen

Anna van der Breggen (10 wins)

3 – WWT
4 – .Pro
2 – .1
1 – National

Anna van der Breggen’s final season saw the usual success. She continued her streak at Fleche Wallonne, leaving her run unbroken into retirement. She’d have taken more Women’s WorldTour victories if the Giro Donne hadn’t been demoted to .Pro level. She also won Omloop het Nieuwsblad at the ProSeries level, so they were all major races.

Lotte Kopecky (8 wins)

1 – WWT
1 – .Pro
