A quick preview look at the Tour de Normandie Féminin 2024

Cedrine Kerbaol 2023 Tour de Normandie Femmes

After a strong introduction to the calendar in 2023, The Tour de Normandie Féminin returns for the 2024 season. Still a 2.1 race, it has seen the number of Women’s WorldTour teams increase from 4 to 6 and the number of stages increases from 3 to 4. We’re going to get a time trial to kick things off in Bagnoles de l’Orne before 3 stages that cover the West, East and Central areas of Normandy.

Last year’s race saw Cedrine Kerbaol win the GC by just 1 second from local rider Gladys Verhulst-Wild. Kerbaol managed to just hold on after winning Stage 2 with a solo break by 8 seconds because Verhulst-Wild couldn’t quite earn bonus seconds in the final sprint. The FDJ-Suez rider finished 4th, missing out on a GC win by the smallest of margins, both in seconds and metres on the road itself.

Which teams are racing at Tour de Normandie Féminin 2024?

We’re going to get 6 Women’s WorldTour teams in this year’s Tour de Normandie Féminin: Ceratizit-WNT, FDJ-Suez, Lidl-Trek, dsm-firmenich PostNl, Team Visma Lease a Bike and Uno-X Mobility. There are a further 16 Continental teams racing here as well. That includes French teams like Arkea-B&B Hotels, Cofidis, St Michel-Mavic-Auber93 and Winspace. Parkhotel Valkenburg returns with their new name of VolkerWessels for a second year, along with fellow returnees MAT Atom Deweloper Wroclaw, Lotto Dstny Ladies, DNA Pro Cycling and AG Insurance-NXTG U23.

The latter is one of a few WWT development teams racing, which includes the UAE Development Team and Liv-AlUla-Jayco too. Cynisca joins DNA as another American team here, with DAS-Handsling and Doltcini O’Shea representing Great Britain. That leaves Laboral Kutxa who is here chasing UCI points to reach the Women’s WorldTour level at the end of the 2025 season and finally, the new LKT Team who have a youthful German team.
