Career overview
Chursina, previously known as Anastasiia Yakovenko, developed as a strong Russian road and track rider with clear time-trial ability. She was 2nd in the junior road race at the 2013 World Championships, won the European under-23 time-trial title in 2016 and became Russian national road race champion in 2017. Her professional career included spells with BTC City Ljubljana and Alé BTC Ljubljana, where she raced at Women’s WorldTour level. Chursina’s best senior international result came in 2021, when she won stage 2 of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas from a breakaway, adding to victory at the Kahramanmaras Grand Prix the same season.
